Residence Life

Living in Community:

The Residence Life Program at Covenant College

Covenant's welcoming family atmosphere is a valued part of our campus, especially in our residence halls. As a member of a hall and dorm, you will join in celebrating the uniqueness of individuals and become a valued member of a dynamic, supportive community.

Your residence hall is more than a place to sleep and store your things - it's part of your education, and you might be surprised by how quickly it becomes your home. It's where you'll meet your best friends and make some of your best college memories. Late-night talks, game nights, impromptu dance parties, movies nights, hall traditions and events, hall study sessions...these are just a few of the ways you'll grow and learn together to make the most of life at Covenant outside of the classroom.

Watch as Associate Dean of Students for Residence Life Jon Wylie describes the relational community at Covenant:

Residence Halls

When you move into one of our residence halls or student apartments, you’ll enjoy pickup basketball games, join in impromptu concerts, and develop lifelong friendships with students on your floor, such as Catacombs or Third South. The residence halls are where you will explore your faith in ways you simply can’t in a classroom. And it’s where some of your best Covenant memories will be made.

I believe that residence life is vital to the entire college experience, and I am blessed to have had an amazing and encouraging hall my first year at Covenant.

Receive Seasoned Guidance

While living in the residence halls, you'll have a Resident Assistant (RA), an upperclassman who lives on your floor and guides you through the transition to college life. Each hall/floor also is home to a member of the Orientation Team, whose mission is to make sure that all new students get the support, answers, and advice they need. All Residence Life staff focus on building a tightly-knit community in an educational atmosphere. They’re readily available to listen, answer challenging questions, and serve you.

Join in Spirit

Hall Council representatives organize programs for your residence hall and often the entire campus community.

At Covenant, we’re a welcoming group of students, faculty, and staff who share a common bond—an overriding commitment to Jesus Christ in all aspects of our lives. You’ll discover a bigger family than you ever expected.

In Their Own Words

Liz Daley

"Residence life strengthens me and supports my academics through the drive that exists on my hall and the opportunity to study with roommates or hallmates. Hall life helps me professionally by connecting me with people who are going into all different professions and careers. This causes me to think outside of the box for the future. Finally, residence life helps me spiritually when we informally pray together as roommates or hallmates and in prayer and praise on Sunday nights when I am able to hear other girls’ testimonies."

"I have learned more about the body of Christ just by living on Covenant’s campus than I have at any church. One of my favorite things about my hall is that though we are all very different, we are bound together by our love of God, our desire to learn more about him, and our desire to love each other and others just as Jesus did. The way we love each other, lift each other up, and use our gifts to ultimately worship God reminds me of the way that II Corinthians 12 describes the body of Christ and the church."
